Challenge Day 29

I can't believe I'm doing a 31 Day Challenge post!  It's challenge day 29 and unfortunately I'm going to have to pick up my challenge, again....when we get back from another weeks vacation.

I did manage to get Fran's quilt finished today and she loved it!

I did an all over freehand hook feather.  You can view a tutorial on how I do this here.

I LOVE how it turned out!  There was so much white area, that it really made the feather design pop and also gave the quilt some motion.

okay...finally...

25 of 30 Finished

Of course I love blue and white quilts. Even more, I love the way your feathers show up.

Your feathers are just beautiful. I read your tutorial, and it is really helpful! I'm excited to try it sometime. I love that it looks a lot like bump back feathers with an echo. So beautiful, and I love how you quilted the whole spine first. I don't think I would have thought of that.

I just checked out your tutorial. It's like you just solved a mystery for me!! It so makes sense. I was making it much harder than it needed to be. Never even considered hooking the feathers!! thanks!

It is breathtaking! I love feathers, and freehand all over feathers are the best. Great quilt, too!
