Challenge Day 9

It's day 9 of my 31 Day Challenge.  Life outside of quilting happened again today and I've been dealing with a headache for the last two days.  I quit drinking caffeine a couple of days ago.   I know this is the right and healthy thing to do and I'm hoping tomorrow my body will have adjusted and my headache will be gone.

Okay....waa...waa...enough of that.

I did manage to get bindings on two quilts and got another one quilted up.

My quilting plan for this quilt was to make a coral looking design??  Not sure if I pulled it off, but I like it anyway.

....so 6 of 12 of Karen's quilts are quilted and one loaded on the machine right now.  I'm adding all the bindings before taking the quilt of the machine.  I will stitch all the bindings down with my sewing machine.  I couldn't imagine doing them by hand!

I'm now pushing Karen's quilts into Saturday and really....really...need to finish them by Sunday!  I've got some pretty big custom jobs coming up that will take some time.

Thanks again for all your comments!  I LOVE THEM!!!

6 of 30 Finished

Quitting caffeine is not easy! But you will definitely feel a difference once it is out of your system. I hope the headaches go away quickly! The quilting looks great as always, can't wait to see the custom jobs you have coming up!

Your getting there, small steps and you'll achieve your goal - don't fret

I admire your determination! Maybe I should do the same, there are so many tasks (papers, sewing projects...) I should have done but I am pushing my deadlines further and further away.

Jenny, I always got my caffeine via Diet Coke. When I decided to quit caffeine, I started slow so I wouldn't get the headaches. Drank 1 Diet Coke in the morning, then switched to Caffeine Free Diet Coke the rest of the day. Gradually able to drop the regular one altogether with no headaches at all.

And the funny part (well headaches are never funny I suffer from migranes so I do feel your pain) is that the Migrane pills you take to relieve headaches have caffine in them! LOL Maybe you should have cut back and not cut out completely right away! I hope you get better soon!

When I was a working girl I drank coffee all day as did my husband. when we retired, we tried to eliminate all the coffee (we didn't drink sodas) and found that we felt much better by starting our day with 1-2 cups of coffee and no more - just a pop of caffine to get a jump start on the day and eliminate that daily headache.

You have accomplished so much in just nine days. I love looking at your quilting motifs (beautifully executed as always) and admiring how they fit the design of the quilts. Give yourself a BIG pat on the back, and take some time for yourself this weekend!

You're amazing! You've gotten so much done, unbelievable. Keep it up but stay sane! You don't want to end up despising what you love!
