I've mentioned this before and I'll mention it again....I'm a SUCKER for a layer cake!! It's a weakness of mine when it comes to fabric!
I couldn't resist this Layer Cake (A Stitch in Color by Malka Dubrasky).
I've always love Malka's quilts. So many bold colors with striking prints, so when I saw this layer cake, it was a no brainer!
....so today's inspiration is Layer Cake quilts and here are a few I found that are totally inspirational!

1. Strawbery Banke 3, 2. Apartment Nine, 3. Chrysalis Quilt, 4. Noah's Dog Park, 5. Ruby's Ribbon Box 021 - Copy, 6. 103_7325, 7. Bella Notte pattern by Sweet Jane's, Sophie fabric by Chez Moi, 8. Sherbet Pips quilt 1, 9. Take 1 ~ A Layer Cake Quilt
Thanks so much for the inspiration!!
I've done up a couple of Layer Cake patterns my self.
This quilt is done up using a Sugar Pop Layer Cake by Liz Scott. I love these fabrics and had so much fun putting it together with my daughter!
I'm in the process of doing up the pattern and as you can see, it's not quilted yet ;o(
I'm calling this quilt "Urban Flowers". This will be the last of two that will end my Urban Series.
I've started my next series of designs with 3 quilts done up so far!
And this is Urban Birthday. I used the Layer Cake Just Wing It by Mo Mo.
I cut and pieced this quilt on my Birthday! It was such a fun quilt to do up! This pattern is available in PDF or Paper Pattern on my Website!
I just need another Birthday to devote 100% of fun time with my new layer cake!!

Each day you tantalise and tease with these delectable sweet 'confectionery' quilts - I've never, yet used a layer cake but have been tempted and these designs tempt me even more - oh to get some UFO's finished so I can play. I can't wait to see your in progress quilt finished and what you do with Malka beautiful fabric. please don't keep us in suspense for too long ;o)
That is such a fabulous design...your mind must be in SuperDrive mode at the moment!
I love they Urban Birthday quilt!I must get that curved ruler.
This really does look like a wine glass - very lol but perfect for the retreats I've been too, at about 5 o'clock. Time for pre-dinner glass of wine.
