Love...love....love...this book! Everything about it, from content....to photography....to techniques....to picture tutorials...and of course the fantastic quilts and quilt patterns!!
I've known Andie through blogging before her book writing journey. Her blog was one of the first I followed and I liked it because she is a very real in her writing. Well.... apparently Andie likes my longarm quilting skills and asked if I would quilt a couple of quilts for a "project" she was working on....a project that had to do with a future book! No pressure for me, none what so ever! Ha! ;o)
This spider web quilt is called "Effie's Web".
..and it's a beauty! I loved quilting it up!
This New York Beauty quilt is called "Midtown Girl".
I really love how this one turned out!
These are only a couple of many awesome quilts in Andie and Kelly's book and to celebrate with them I'm having a book GIVEAWAY!!

How about a drunkards path! Love the traditional patterns so I'm sure you can do something wonderful with them.
I love the classic curved "Winding Ways" block. It usually involves templates so if there was a way to make it with your ruler I would be great!

I agree - Drunkard's Path. I've never made one, but would like to try an easier method than cutting with templates by hand.

I think the centre block of an Irish Chain could nicely be done with the curved ruler.
I don't really know a block that hasn't been suggested as I don't really do much with curves. I sure would like to have this book though.
I'm ready to do a Dresden plate, but I'm scared of the curves!

Double Wedding Ring is my first choice, but I know you already have that one in the works. Second choice is a pieced Orange Peel block. I love this block but I will never make an entire quilt with it since the traditional method requires applique.

Winding ways would be great. I've always loved it but been scared by the curves.

I am waiting for the double wedding ring pattern. So exciting!
My daughter is working on a double wedding ring quilt now and hand-quilting it. So I'd pick to do that one with a modern twist.
Storm at Sea is on my to do list and I think the curved nature of the quilt pattern might lend nicely to the QCR.

Yikes! That question is a toughie cuz I haven't been quilting all that long. Any curvey quilt would be great for me. The only curvey quilts I can think of right now are Drunkard's Path and New York Beauty...
I think a Pineapple Block would be SO fun!

I've been wanting to do an Orange Peel quilt for some time now. The quilting for the book is fantastic.
I think storm at sea has a lot of possibilities with the ruler. Not stictly a curved block, but was that look. Also winding ways!
Drunkard's Path was my very first quilt back in 1976. Who knew curves weren't for beginners! I would love to make it over with a simpler method than tracing around cardboard 1,000 times!

I'm with the others that would LOVE to see a DWR pattern using your Curve tool! I've had fabric to make my daughter and SIL one for their wedding for 4 years now. Maybe I could actually get one done by their 5th anniversary!

I've been playing with my ruler for a while now, and had just worked out the Double Wedding Ring block with it, before you posted that you were doing it.

You got me looking in the book by Maggie Malone, "5500 Quilt Block Designs" with your question. Block no. 3498 Ferris Wheel, Block no. 3535 Grist Mill and block 3550 Carolina Favorite and 3599 Pointed Ovals are just a few I'd love to try. I wonder too, if there's a way to interpret Snails Trail with your ruler.
Lovely quilts as always. I don't know a ton of traditional stars. There is a set for each state and it would be interesting to see if those could be curved-up.

I'm very new to quilting, but I think I have to echo those who have piped up in favor of the wedding ring quilt. Even before I was interested in quilting, I've wanted to make one (and I love the new "single girl" version as well).
I want to do so many curved quilt blocks - double wedding ring, drunkard's path, dresden plate, and pickle dish! They're all gorgeous, but tough to execute.
Sorry I missed out. I would love this book. Guess I'll have to go buy it. haha! I LOVE the quilting you did. No surprise they loved your quilting enough to have you quilt for them!
