We hope you are enjoying making the Twisted Blossom blocks as much as we are!
Here is an update on Helen's blocks… She is using Anna Maria Horner's fabrics Folk Song.
Here is a pressing seam suggestion for managing the bulk from multiple layers. Some seams are pressed open and some are pressed to the side. You should do whatever makes you happy :-)
(I usually do a combination of both to manage the bulk. Helen)
Now for the Giveaway! Today we are giving away this awesome cutting/pressing mat which works great when taking a class and need your own cutting/pressing station but you don't have a lot of room. I love to make my famous green salad. At least that's what everyone calls it. 1 can crushed pineapple, 2 cups of Mini Marshmallows, 1 box of pistachio instant pudding mix, Mix that all up and then add a tub of Cool Whip. Chill for at least 1/2 hour. This makes up in about 5 min. and everyone loves it.

My favorite salad might be my version of 3 bean salad that has 6-7 kinds of beans, a red, yellow and orange bell pepper, purple onion. Very colorful as well as tasty.

I love to make congealed salads in the summer months. I use 1 small box orange jello, grated carrots, can of pineapple drained, keep juice and add to make 1 cup..dissolve jello in 1 cup boiling water..1 tbsp vinegar, and half tsp salt. Goes great with chicken salad . Love your site, bought the pattern last week for this great pattern. Keep inspiring us with your wonderful curved patterns!

Anything fresh from the vegetable plot always tastes extra delicious at this time of year.
I keep it simple with salad :-) Love tomatoes and cucumber with vinegar and oil and a few herbs.
Have a nice summer!
We make awesome big salads and add hard boiled egg and chicken (white meat bought bulk from Costco's rotisserie chickens) to make them a complete meal. Ours tonight had romaine, spinach, carrots, pea pods, cherry tomatoes, red pepper, onion, cucumber, diced apple plus the egg and chicken. I top mine with blue cheese, my hubby likes shredded cheddar. I love Newman's Own Raspberry Walnut vinaigrette dressing. At least half the veggies are grown in our own garden. Nothing beats a fully ripe cherry tomato picked fresh, especially the orange Sun Gold variety. We make it big enough that it lasts two days.
Potato salad everytime! Made a batch last night for a BBQ and all gone! Might have to do some more today. Thanks for the chance to win.
I enjoy a garden salad in summer and use a variety to present it, such as a wedge made into a BLT flavor version or grill peaches or plums for a little zing with a grilled chicken garden salad. Recently started using a blob of hummus and slicing coins of radish into a make shift rose as a small side dish. All easy and quick but healthy. Thanks for the wonderful and generous giveaway.

Thanks for the helpful hints for this block. I have a recipe called summer coleslaw. You use a bag of shredded cabbage, finely chopped green onion, sunflower seeds, slivered almonds, crumble noodles from 1 pkg of beef flavored raman. You then make a dressing for it using the beef flavoring. No mayo to spoil in the summer heat with this recipe.
My daughter-in-law makes an amazing fried rice salad. Love it.

Broad beans with husks peel after cooking, eggs very finely chop, chop the tomatoes. Mix everything together with mayonnaise sauce and cream, dill and season to taste with salt and pepper. Oh My Goodness, what stunning fabrics, colours, patterns and lastly the design. I so wish I was made of money!! I would buy the whole kit and rules to make this stunning project. I wish it was me that would be selected but I will keep on hoping and dreaming. I noted recently in a magazine at home where I can get the quick curve ruler and then I could play. Thinking it just might fit my very meagre budget this fortnight to purchase it so I could play with some stunning Jinny Beyer Fabric that I have in my stash. When it gets done I will send a photo! Julie.
