Monumental Moment!

This is my last customer quilt and a very "Monumental Moment" for me.

It's been a year since I officially decided to not take in anymore customer quilts....was I good at saying no?  No.  Is it easier for me now?  No.  I don't think it will ever be easy.  I worked so hard to build up my customer base and never thought I would ever turn anyone away.  But, my career path has changed and is heading in a different direction and it feels really good!

This beautiful Urban Nine Patch quilt is Becky's!  She's been a huge Quick Curve Ruler supporter!  This is one of many quilts she has made using the Quick Curve Ruler.

I will admit, I had a really difficult time yesterday deciding how to quilt this up.  I found out she loved feathers and so that helped...but I was really stumped otherwise.  I think because I love this quilt so much it was a bit intimidating as to what to quilt on it and I didn't want to do something I wouldn't be happy with.

After a good night sleep I woke up this morning with a plan and really like it so far!

  First row done!

So glad your feeling good about the change ahead even though it wasn't easy, a new adventure awaits! Hope this gives you more time to work on your own quilts so we can continue to be inspired by your quilting and your quilt patterns.

This just may be one of my favorites!! If you had any suggestions on choosing a quilter, I would love to hear them. I've always done my own because of the nightmare stories I've heard... But I don't have a long arm. :/

This wonderful quilt is definitely going to be a monument of the Art of Quilting!
Although it's sad that we'll have to do without your inspiring posts on quilting on a regular basis, it's great to notice you've every confidence that choosing this new direction is the right thing to do. And, I'm sure you'll be successful!

I will sorely miss your inpiration in longsrm quilting but wish you the best! On another note, I participated in the VA-MD Quilters' Quest this past weekend and was thrilled to see your quilts and patterns at Material Girls in LaPlata, MD. It was a pleasure to see them in person and to be able to purchase more of your patterns!

Love this! I can imagine how you are feeling, but nothing is forever, right? Perhaps in a few years you will return to customer quilting? I will miss seeing your customer quilts, hopefully you make lots of your own so I can continue to be inspired!
