Medallion with Diamonds

Medallion with Diamonds Tutorial

First off thanks so much for all the input on adding a diamond to the outside Medallions....and because of your input, I am going to add diamonds and did up a short tutorial on how to do it.   Thanks again!!

Adding the diamond is optional but in case you like it and want to add it, here is the tutorial:

Fabric needed:
(2) 2 1/2" x 3 1/2" rectangles

Cut rectangles in half.  Make sure to cut opposite of each other.

Make a triangle template.  One side 1 3/4" in length and the other side 2 1/2" in length.

Use template as guide.

Trace along edge and using a rotary cutter, place ruler on mark and cut off corner piece.

Center triangle piece and sew on to corner.

Press, then cut off excess fabric to square up corner.

It looks amazing, the diamonds do lift it.

I love it with the diamonds! The quilt really needed it to make it all come together.

This is very elegant and matches the medallion look nicely. I would have done a snow ball like thing... Love this sooooo much more! Thanks!

Oh, thank you so much. I am just at the point where I could put the quilt together and was trying to decide what would make the secondary design special. This does the trick so nicely. These have been so addicting.

I'm really thrilled with how mine came out. Even my engineer husband loves it. I've got all my blocks together (with diamonds). Now need to put some borders on it to finish it off. Thank you for such a great and easy design when curves can usually be so intimidating.

Beautiful element of the diamond in the middle, love, love, love it! You are so creative, Jenny! I've already started putting some blocks together but I will definitely be ripping them apart to add the diamonds :)

Thank you so much Jenny & Helen! I am so very excited to get this quilt complete. My Metro Rings is almost completely pieced and I will get to quilting it shortly. Beautiful patterns as always!
