Coordinating color for "Dream On"

...so I fell in love with this layer cake, "Dream On" by Urban Chicks for Moda and have come up with the perfect pattern for it.  I hope?  Anyway,  I haven't started it, because I'm stumped as to what color to coordinate with all these pastels.  1/2 of the quilt is going to be the solid color, so I really want to make sure I choose the right one.  I've narrowed it down to these colors.  Would love to know what you think!!  I'm open to other colors too.

..some of my thoughts...The white seems to be the obvious choice.  The problem is, some of the blocks have a lot of white in them and there wouldn't be enough contrast.

...the gray is pretty dark.  I have a couple of lighter shades?

...I love the green.  But it will be a lot of green, considering it will be 1/2 of the quilt.

...and the yellow is pretty bright,  and it might remind of Easter every time I look at the quilt.

...I'm leaning towards the natural linen.  But will it have enough contrast?

...any thoughts?

Have you tried laying the fabric on a soft blue? That might make the other colors pop!
My favorite out of your pictures is the yellow.

I personally like the green, but you could work in any color that is in the print.

The square with the coral flower on the blue background right in the middle of the pile - I like that one in a similar blue solid. There's a lot of pinkish/orangy/coral-ish in this charm - blue would set them off really nicely. Chambray would give it a very 70s vibe. But really, any of your choices would look cute.

I'm feeling the grey. Maybe a medium wouldn't be so dark.

Interesting fabric as it reminds of the colourful bed sheets I had as a child. I like the green but maybe the grey would be a better choice so not to be in competition with these colors. Maybe look at some more grey choices. G

I would chose the green. Beautiful colors.

I like the gray because of the high contrast and the one darker colored flower would pop in the fabric line. I thought the dark gray was a navy and that would be the complimentary color which would also look great.

I'm SO glad you posted this and showed some possible coordinates. I'll be most interested to know what you choose. I, too, have some Dream On fabric and found that white was a little too washed out for it but where I live it's really hard to find solids in anything but white, black, and beiges. And I don't have one of those nifty Kona or Bella swatch cards to help me select something that I can then buy online. If you come up with a winner, please let me know what it is and there's a good chance I will order the same fabric. Thanks so much for this post!!

By the way, I'm wondering about blue, too, though blue isn't typically a colour I use much of. The yellow, to me, looks the most pleasant.
