New Color Fixation and Chocolate Strawberries

Fixation- An obsessive interest in or feeling about someone or something.

Okay...I admit it, I have a fixation on yellow and gray right now.  I know this is a problem of mine to the point I will re-do an entire room to satisfy my fixation....last year I had a fixation on gray and green and re-did my family room in those colors (I also needed my gray and green Urban Pods quilt to match)I could have left my downstairs colors they way they were but no, I had to paint the walls light aqua and bring in pops of black to satisfy that fixation (and of course to match my aqua and black Urban Abacus quilt)....and my latest re-do was of course my kitchen in yellow and gray.  I really do drive myself crazy sometimes but always LOVE THE END RESULTS!!  ....so what comes next with my yellow and gray fixation???....a quilt of course!

Oh...I'm in love!  You are looking at the very beginning of my Double Wedding Ring quilt!  I had other fabric picked out for the DWR quilt....but since I currently have a fixation on yellow and gray I had to change my plans!!

I wonder what my next fixation will be?

We love Chocolate Strawberries!!  Who doesn't!

My daughter Brittany made these today.  They are very easy to make!  Melt a bag of chocolate chips, semi-sweet or milk in a pan on low with 3 Tablespoons of shortning.  Once they are melted, dip the strawberries and place on wax paper on a bar pan.  Refridgerate till chocolate is firm, eat and enjoy!!

Oh geez!!! I'm on about my third napkin from wiping the drool off my chin...no, not for the chocolate strawberry's...but for the amazingly gorgeous yellow and grey combo! I have been fixated on grey fabrics since they first started peeking out in some of the collections and I have to admit I hadn't thought of yellow with it, but I love both colors and after seeing your selection of the two, I am completely smitten. Now I've got to start searching for some in the same range. Really breath taking.

Not sure if you actually want to know this. If you can buy cadbury melts (they are the best but any melts will do), put them into a microwave safe bowl, set your microwave to medium/low for 3 minutes and put the melts in there. Press start. Check after 2 minutes to see if they are melted. Then you are good to go and you don't need the shortening.
We do this with a fruit plate for dessert sometimes. Dip the fruit into the chocolate and then roll them in coconut for a really fun, yummy dessert. Or you can dip the fruit in and then set it in the fridge - if you can wait that long. :D

Your fabrics are beautiful. I had never thought of yellow and gray but now you have brought that thought to mind, I can see that a yellow and gray quilt is in my future.

Sounds like you would do well to paint some walls in your rooms grey and then you only need to freshen a few of them when you get a new color fixation. That is what I have done in my house.....
