I quilted this up on Sunday and wanted to try something new by putting the minky on the top.
It quilted up great! You can check out all the details on my "Quilting Tips, Tricks and Techniques" post today.
I had planned for the minky to be the top of the quilt all along....that is.... until I finished quilting it and took it off the machine.
I turned it over to see how the back looked.
Oh yea baby!!! That's what I'm talking about!
...and that's how the minky for the top, is now the back!
I pieced a bit of this fabric and that fabric...just to make the backing big enough. Who knew I would love it as my top!
...and because I all ready added the binding before taking it off the longarm with full intention to stitch in the ditch on the top (minky side). Instead I stitched the binding down from the fabric side (new top side) just along the edge. It's not perfect looking on the minky side, but who cares that's my new back.
My daughter Brooke wanted me to used a fluffier batting for this quilt, so we decided on wool and love how it turned out. It should be very warm!
