Before and After Quilting

I started working on this little quilt for Lisa yesterday and loved seeing the difference the quilting made.

....so I took a couple before and after quilting shots.

Isn't that fun!

I also try to link quilters to blogs and sometimes fail to do so.  So I wanted to make sure I linked up Thelma for her beautiful quilt yesterday.

Thelma and Lisa are both phenomenal quilters and I wanted to emphasize how nice that is and how much easier that makes my job!  ;o)

Your quilting is so phenomenal! Do you do any marking or are you that precise free motion quilting? I'm amazed at how perfect the arcs look. Mine would be very wonky!

That petal design in the stars is just lovely!

Is that a stand-alone design (you stitch each one individually with its own start/stop)?

Or were you able to stitch it continuously with the other quilting designs?

I try to do continuous designs so I don't have so many tails to tie off and bury.

Lovely work. You've proved what I've always thought, that a quilt isn't a quilt until it's quilted.

Just simply amazing to see the difference quilting makes! And as the designer of the quilting design, you always seem to lift a quilt up above the ordinary :*) These blocks are really cute all on their own, but they take on a totally new life after your gorgeous stitching!

I may have started making quilts for the beauty of the fabrics, but I keep making them because of the way the quilting enhances the fabrics and the piecing.
(I had wondered if the the Thelma in your last post was the Thelma of Cupcakes and Daisies fame.)

Breathtaking! What a difference. The quilt itself is so spiffy and fresh, and the quilting makes it even more so, with warmth added. Great collaboration!

Your quilting is always stunning! How do you get your quilting to stand out so well? What is your batting of choice? Thanks for sharing your talent with us, I look forward to seeing your latest quilt. How do you get inspired? Every quilt looks so unique with it's own personality.

Love your quilting! Do you use a ruler when you do the arcs in the white pieces? You're lines are always so straight.
