CIU Challenge QAL
We wanted to check in with everyone who is participating in our CIU Challenge QAL. We hope you are all having fun with the CIU blocks and challenging yourself to come up with something you love!
I've had a blast challenging myself to come up with a new design.
Here is my latest creation.
I'm making four of these HUGE blocks and sewing them together to create my end design. The border was an after thought yesterday and I love how it really sets off the block design! I did up a sample of what blocks I used from the CIU pattern and where they go to create my design.
I used the Churndash, Sawtooth, Ninepatch and Curvygeese blocks. You can see above, where they go in my design.
I'm using beautiful "Cherie" fabric from Frances Newcombe with Art Gallery Fabrics.
Sherilyn is having so much fun with the Challenge that she has started another quilt and here is her first block.

Today it's gray and pink, yesterday it was aqua and yellow. As for tomorrow, who knows.
The combination for the moment is aqua and grey.
my favortie color combo is tons of scrappy! And, then I see those gorgeous quilt that are solid and think I should do that and once again, go straight for tons of color in print....
I am currently in love with purple and aqua with light grey background.

Right now, I'm in LOVE with pink and beige with a purplish pop. Don't know why, as I usually overload quite easily on pink.

Fall colors. Rust, orange, gold, brown, yellow; with black and autumn sky blue.

My CIU blocks are in aqua and orange and I love, love, love it. Really aqua and anything makes me happy. :D

One of the quilts I am working on now is lime, turquoise, and black and white on grey.
Grey and orange with a little white for sparkle, is my fav right now. I also like purple and acid green together.

I love the red, black, white and gray combo.
My current favorite is chocolate batiks with a hint of turquoise. Makes for a very rich looking quilt!

At the present time it is purple, green and a neutral. It varies with the quilt I am working on.

I'm repainting the inside of my house and loving teal charcoal and white. I'm also so excited about your version of a pickle dish quilt pattern release at the end of the month. It's gorgeous.

love that 1st quilt! The border is perfect! Favorite colors are turquoise and reds- deep reds.
I have always been a muted scheme person . Perhaps because I love reproductions and old so for awhile it has been the turkey red and mustardy color way.

Right now it would have to be fall colors - rust, greens, and browns. Am wondering myself, what my next favorite colors will be? But, it always seems that I find greens in the mix.

I tend to do a lot of purple and blue in all its various shades! I need to branch out and embrace some new colors!

I think your patterns really shine in two color quilts, not two different patterns on the fabric, but two color families, But my all time favorite is black with jewel tones!

I have a hard time working in warm colors. The teal, orange and brown shown is a nice combination of both warm and cool. Currently I am working with purple scraps. Isn't it the way with quilters to always be into more than one thing?
