Urban Winter

I finished up my Urban Winter quilt top today.  I'm pretty pleased with it.  It doesn't WOW me though.  My original plan was to pair these reds with a solid aqua....red/aqua.  But I came across a bedroom in a magazine some time back and it was decorated in red and gray and I loved it....hence gray instead of aqua.

anyway...maybe it's the prints that are busy so you can't see the design.... or maybe it wasn't the right shade of gray.... or maybe it's just me.   I do love the design though!

Can you see circles?  Also imagine the background being the print and the print being the background.  That would give it a totally different look and I love how the design comes together with the fabric!  Much prettier than a drawing on graph paper.

I love it! I think it will really come alive when it's quilted and the gray has a bit of texture. Beautiful job!

I love the gray and pink. I just had an idea the other day for a gray and pink string quilt.

I am sure the quilt will really come to life when you add your wonderful quilting! And I can see the circles, just like in a double wedding ring pattern.

Well I think it has the wow factor. For me personally, I see the red/aqua combo all over quilty blog land so this is a refreshing change. And once it's quilted it will come completely alive!

I love it and think it will be drawn together more once it's quilted - then it will really 'pop'
