My Inner Battle!

Batting update:  I've had no issues whatsoever with the batting.  Again, I think the loft could be a little thicker, but that would mean more weight and that is what I'm trying to eliminate.  The true test will be when I take the quilt of the machine to see how it hangs and feels.

My Inner battle!

There's this thing that happens to me and I call it "my inner battle".  It happens, each time I do a quilting design on a quilt and when I walk away from it I don't love it and I instantly become cranky!

After this point, I was feeling "my inner battle" kick in.

I do like it, but am not overjoyed.  Can I do these quilting designs repetitively throughout the whole quilt???  No!  I won't enjoy the quilting process on this quilt and that bugs me, so a little change is needed.

Do I feel better now?  I think so and really who cares, it's my quilt with no pressures to impress anyone buy myself as long as I defeat "my inner battle"!!

Oh...and it gives those of you out there some more quilting ideas for your Medallion quilts!

  1. Oh Jenny, I understand this completely! I battle like this all the time. I am not happy you have battles of your own, but I am glad to know I am not alone. I love the changes, but I loved it before too.

  2. So like me. I hate everything I quilt until I pull it off the frames. ;-) Why do we do that? Crazy! It's gorgeous, so enjoy!

  4. Hehe :) Can't help laughing at Frog Quilter's comment, as I also ADORE the first design. But you said the only thing that matters: It's YOUR quilt, so if it's not floating your boat, you need to change it up. :D Hope it's a happy quilt for you now - you sure deserve it. :D

  7. I love your changes, and while I believe it's important to "pick my battles" so to speak, I so appreciate how you worked it out so it was to be a joy... And not a burden... In your quilting choices... At least that's how I look at it. Gorgeous and inspiring, thanks for sharing!

  16. I ditto everything that has already been stated. I don't know if what I have is an "inner battle." I believe it would be called an out and out war because I am usually just totally confused as to what or how to quilt. I am so happy for this blog because you ALL are so inspiring to me when I see your interpretations for quilting the same project :D Keep up the great work!
