It's day 24 of my 31 Day Challenge and it was all about life outside of quilting today. The house and laundry really needed some attention today and with school out soon, there's of course all that stuff too.
This is my daughter Brooke waiting to get her 5th Grade Promotion Certificate. She starts middle school next year, she seems so young!
All day I thought of the quilt, loaded on my machine right now, waiting for me to quilt it, but it just wasn't going to happen today.
I absolutely had to get some orders ready to be shipped out tomorrow and that always take a chunk of time.
...and tomorrow, I'm off to another Quilt Shop to demo my ruler again! I'm not quite ready for that, it's going to be an early start tomorrow.
I think if I had started this challenge one week earlier, I could have made it! I've only got a couple of quilting day's left for my challenge and sadly I know I'm not going to make it. ;o(
A few of the remaining quilts are custom and so there is no way I can complete my goal. I'm still going to try my best to get done what I can and try to keep my chin up and be proud of what I've accomplished so far!!
23 of 30 Finished
~Jenny~
it is not over till it is over jenny !! no matter what the final # is you have been very successful!! xoxoxo
ReplyDeleteJenny, think about it: you have done 23 quilts this month, including some with very intricate and complex quilting. 23 quilts -- that is a HUGE accomplishment!! Even if you didn't get one more done this month, I would still be amazed at your productivity. Life does get in the way -- and sometimes that is a good thing!!
ReplyDeleteOh Jenny. Don't be discouraged. You've done an amazing job. And I'm sure your public declarations of your progress have made all the difference in your productivity. I've enjoyed your daily updates immensely. Well done on an amazing effort. Even though you may not get them all quilted I'm sure it feels fabulous to have achieved this much.
ReplyDelete75% is a distinction grade - you'rve already distinguished yourself with this challenge. Very impressive. Jill (Australa)
ReplyDeleteI think you have done a wonderful job this month! Whether you meet your goal our not, you are MUCH closer to it than you were at the beginning of the month. And where would you have been if you didn't set the goal!
ReplyDeleteAmazing job! I think I'll set a similar type goal for September, as I'm out of town (more than not in town) in July and August.
Hey, it's not over and as they say it's not over until the 'fat' lady sings - and I'm not singing ...... ;o)
ReplyDeleteLook at it this way - if you hadn't started the challenge this month you WOULDN'T be at this stage with only 7 quilts to go .... however you did start it and you have made a huge dent in the pile, and, the challenge isn't finished yet - lets see how far you get next week, you could surprise yourself... and who cares if you don't do all 30 - I bet you have all 30 completed by the end of the following week, even with some playtime.
Be kind to yourself, you've had an amazing month - yes, life gets in the road of things (and this month I know that from personal 'trials'), but if that life wasn't around you keeping you going what would be the point of everything else ....
Keep going and take heart, you are doing great ....
It ain't over yet Sweetie! I ain't singing! :) Stand proud, you are doing an amaizing job, no matter how far you get at the end of this challenge, you can hold your head up high, look how far you have come, that is one huge pile of success! Enjoy life, it's there for you, and like Ethne says, without it, what's the point! Think big, dream big!
ReplyDeleteYou've done such a wonderful job so far and you really should feel proud of yourself! Even if you don't finish everything, think of everything you have finished! :) It's quite an accomplishment for only a month's time.
ReplyDeleteI am blown way by all the quilting you're getting done. And especially with all the kiddos around! You should be very proud of what you've accomplished. And very beautifully!
ReplyDeleteYour daughter is beautiful like you! Congrats! And you succeeded as soon as you set the goal & faithfully began working toward it. We're blessed with the internet letting us share so much and we love reading about all you've done!
ReplyDeleteI hope I get the chance to try things with your ruler soon. Right now, there's not enough hours in the day!
Have a great weekend!
Keep up the great work! 23 quilts in one month is AMAZING and it's not even July 1st yet.
ReplyDeleteThis week I have been working on quilting a BOM of my own. Lots of seams on the top and then I foolishly decided to piece the back out of 14 inch squares - so lots of seams back there. Needless to say - my longarm machine isn't liking this quilt - or should I say the thread isn't liking all the seams. It has been testing my patience! I am down to the bottom three borders - so I am hoping to be done with this painful process today.
Can't wait to see your progress this week!
I don't think you should have any regrets: you might not make target, BUT look at what you have accomplished so far!! 10 out of 10 girl!I think you have done a very admirable job so far - quilting 23 quilts in one month.... I think you might have set a world record!

ReplyDeleteDon't worry about what you didn't finish! Just concentrate on what you did. You're SO much farther along than you were at the beginning of the month! You have done a great job, and you know what they say, "The opera isn't over 'til the fat lady sigs!"
ReplyDeleteYou have already done so much! Don't give up just yet because you never know until you are done. You could surprise yourself.
ReplyDeleteNo matter what, you have gotten so much done towards your goal and that is something to be proud of!
You have been and continue to be an inspiration to me! You have completed some absolutely beautiful quilts! I find myself anxiously looking forward to your updates everyday and even brag about you to my husband. He is quite impressed with your beautiful quilting also! And there is no telling just what you will accomplish in the remaining days!
ReplyDeleteDon't stress. It will get done. See you soon!
ReplyDeleteFirst, the quilts you have done are beautiful. You are very talented. Second, you really did get alot done so far. Give yourself a pat on the back. Falling a few short of the total does not diminish the rest of the work you've done. You've inspired me with the beauty of your designs.
ReplyDeleteYou should be impressed! I keep wondering if you are sleeping! Do what you can and be happy. Your work and your family are beautiful. You are truly blessed.
ReplyDeleteKeep that chin up! You have done an amazing job! You owe it to yourself to schedule down-time, too.
ReplyDeleteI think you can rightfully be proud of what you've accomplished! I will confess - I thought you might be a touch crazy when you started! If you stopped now, it would still be a huge success!
ReplyDeleteAnd you should be very very proud of all your accomnplishments!! You sure did way more than most of us could! BTW I started piecing an Urban Abacus yesterday, I can hardly wait to get it all done.
ReplyDeleteEven 30 in 40 would be a tremendous accomplishment! You're doing a really incredible job and I'm have a lot of fun seeing all of your beautiful work.
ReplyDeleteSeems to me one could amend the challenge and add that week you need? You are doing great and so I think it is a huge success however you define it.
ReplyDeleteI hope you're not sad! Getting that many quilts done is an accomplishment! Plus whoever many you do get done before the month is over. You've been such an inspiration to me this month too, and now I'm deciding to see how much I can get done! You're amazing!!!
ReplyDeleteYea for Brookie! She is so young! Hannah doesn't get "old" until next year...she has one more year of Elemetary. Can't wait to see y'all next week! Great job on your challenge, Jenny!
