Quilting on the DWR

First off, I just want to say thanks to all the sweet comments on our new quilts and the nice comments about the DWR.  The last time I had a baby I didn't have a quilting or pattern business.  It's definitely harder to find the time for it all now.

I did manage to get this far on the DWR though.

This quilting design did not come very easy for me.  I did do some picking out and although I did some research on the web for some quilting inspiration, nothing really struck me as something I wanted to do.

I am really happy with it now....like I said before, a little picking out was needed because of some very poor design choices.

My husband's first thought when it came to the quilting was to accentuate the rings and make them stand out.  So with that in mind, I tried to come up with a way to do just that.  It was really tempting to do a quilting motif in the open diamond areas....but opted not to and am really pleased with just the straight lines.

I've done up 1 block now and have 11 more to go.  Very repetitive....hopefully I wont get too bored with it.

I do love how it's turning out though!

  25. I LOVE this! The combination of straight lines in the open spaces and strings of "pearls" outlining the wedding rings is perfect. I'm amazed not only by your skillful execution, but by the way you are able to choose the absolute perfect quilting design for each quilt. Looking at this now I can't imagine ANY other way of quilting it!
