ReplyDeleteI have two blocks completed and have the rest of them cut out. I am doing assembly line sewing for the rest of the blocks. I hope to finish them soon! I don't have any vacation plans for this summer. We had a very hectic year last summer so I want to stay home and sew!

I have completed all my blocks! I did a sample block first from scraps, then did all cutting next. That took a while especially the background fabric! I assembly line sewed all pieces and then trimmed all to size. I pinned each bundle into 32 packages, and then it was fun deciding what fabric was going to each block. I have now sewn all blocks together, and just this morning was outside trying to decide on a layout. I sent a copy of my picture of the layout to the sew kind of wonderful gmail address. Making these blocks are extremely addictive and extremely fun. I love the look of the minis. I have made metro rings already and it was fun too! Thanks for the summer fun. We are heading on a family vacation at the end of August.
ReplyDeleteCompleted four blocks! Mostly seeing family and trying to stay cool in FL!
ReplyDeleteI have 6 blocks completed. Just returned from a fun trip to the San Francisco area.
ReplyDeleteI have four completely done and one more cut out.
ReplyDeleteI love the new patterns.
I've got 5 blocks finished and 11 more waiting. I would have possibly for them done these last few days but my machine would take up too much room in our travel trailer. If only I didn't have to take the kids along camping. ;-)
ReplyDeleteI have been making doll quilts from my stash scraps for my great nieces' American Girl dolls. For fun trips this summer...Shipshewana Quilt Festival in Shipshewana, Indiana in June and heading to a huge quilting Shop Hop under 1 roof in Kokomo Indiana this weekend.
ReplyDeleteI have made 10 blocks so far! Need to take a break and get some deadline sewing done though...
ReplyDeleteI have taken one trip this weekend to the Jersey short. Other than that, sticking close to home!

ReplyDelete5 so far. All are cut out which makes it easier to stitch one up when I have a spare minute. My trip will be a short one, 5 minutes from home. An adult cousin family picnic in August.
ReplyDeleteI had great plans for joining the twisted blossom qal but alas, 2 wedding quilts needed finishing up first a queen sized urban beads and the a signature rail fence -- as of yesterday, they are DONE! Now to make some twisted blossom blocks.
ReplyDeleteNo real plans to go anywhere this summer, boo hoo......
I have made only four blocks so far! Travel wise, I have an excuse because i have been to Australia, Hawaii and Wisconsin so far this summer. Seattle in a couple weeks as well. School starts 8/20, so my life will resume normal schedule. Phew, I can get back to my sewing. Thanks for the opportunity.
ReplyDeleteLove the fabrics in this giveaway!!! Haven't made any blocks as I've been finishing a quilt for my daughter. Recently spent a wonderful week in Vancouver BC and took in three of the women's world cup games - awesome!!! And just back from a long weekend visit to see daughter and son in law in Idaho. ReplyDeleteSheepishly admitting that I have only cut out some of the pieces and sewn a quarter of a block....but only because projects around the home are taking up my time! Have loved watching everyone's progress.... :-). Alas, no summer trips for me this year due to the home projects!

ReplyDeleteI've made 8 blocks - half way there! I really appreciate this QAL - I've had the ruler and a couple of your patterns since Christmas, but was afraid to try the curves! Much easier than I thought it would be! Thanks again!
ReplyDeleteWell I am still at the start unfortunately. I've been trying to catch up on a couple of other quilt alongs and battling the which colorway should I choose for the twisted blossom blocks. Sometimes (ok most of the time) I think way too much about my color choices. Spending some time at the cottage in a couple of weeks, so hopefully I will be able to dive in with both feet and get a bunch of blocks made.
ReplyDeleteI just got my ruler and am anxious to try my first block. We have been traveling to San Diego a lot to visit with our newest grand babies who arrived early. Cuddle time has been replacing quilting time!
ReplyDeleteI am an admirer at this point. No blocks made YET. As for our vacation this summer, my husband and I went to Grand Cahman for a week last month!!
ReplyDeleteI've got my fabric cut, hoping to sew tomorrow! I'm doing a test run before I use my dream fabric, but am loving this block! Heading to California's central coast in 2 months-wahoo!
ReplyDeleteI had good intentions but I haven't finished a single block. I have however finished 324 5 in lattice blocks and canned enough food for the whole winter. No trips for me. I have to can and feed the Humming birds.
ReplyDeleteI have seen the block and have the ruler, but haven't take the time to make it yet. I have been trying to eliminate a few UFO's before summer is over, so I can start my Christmas sewing. No trips planned this year.
ReplyDeleteHaven't started yet. Summer is flying by! Went to Iowa & Missouri
ReplyDeleteI have been in France watching the Tour de France . On my return the QCR you sent had arrived safely in the post. With the race finishing this weekend there will be much more time for sewing on my machine!
ReplyDeleteWe are under construction, so no sewing and no vacations in my immediate future.

ReplyDeleteLovely QAL and the variety of blocks shown. I have yet to start this pattern but. Will as soon as my schedule lightens up. These colors and prints would probably be the incentive I need to push through though! LOL
ReplyDeleteI have all the fabric and some of them cut out. Busy summer. I have trips planned for several weekends out of town/state through October for dog shows/competitions. Too much fun!
ReplyDeleteI have most of the fabric cut out and ready to sew for a very large quilt. "Go big, or stay home" seems to be my motto. Our vacation doesn't come up until the first week in September but we're looking forward to going to Island Park, Idaho and Yellowstone. Can't get enough of the mountains!

ReplyDeleteJust got my ruler for the Twisted Blossom blocks. I love that block! Going to try it out today. I LOVE Denyse Schmidt fabrics! No trips planned this summer. Had a rough year with husband sick, so no $$ to go anywhere. That's ok though. More time to quilt! Thanks!! Kay
ReplyDeleteI finished block 8 last night. Trying to keep up with the 2 a week. I have no big vacation plans this year as my vacation. I do plan on a few quilt retreats at the coast in the next few months though.
ReplyDeleteCompleted two so far, no big plans to go away.
ReplyDeleteI haven't been able to even start, but I'm sure saving all the instructions and hints.
ReplyDeleteNo plans this summer.
This project may be above my skill level but I'm willing to try.
ReplyDeleteHi -- I've only made three Twisted Blossom blocks, but they are really beautiful. I'm so happy with them. For summer vacation, my daughter and I went off to North Dakota to visit my side of the family -- it was so lovely and relaxing and great weather, and boy it went fast. We just came a couple of days ago, and her school starts in about a week. So sad to see summer end so soon for my daughter.

ReplyDeleteI have made 11 so far. Hoping to to have 20 blocks for my quilt. I am certainly enjoying making these blocks too. My ideal holiday to take in Australian summer time is to the snow and have a white Christmas with my family.
ReplyDeleteI love the pattern, but havent had time to get started yet. Two of my boys were getting ready to start college this year, one at the other end of the world. Summer here was all about knitting, weaving and quilting whenever i wasnt running around helping with paperwork or shopping!
