Monumental Moment!

This is my last customer quilt and a very "Monumental Moment" for me.

It's been a year since I officially decided to not take in anymore customer quilts....was I good at saying no?  No.  Is it easier for me now?  No.  I don't think it will ever be easy.  I worked so hard to build up my customer base and never thought I would ever turn anyone away.  But, my career path has changed and is heading in a different direction and it feels really good!

This beautiful Urban Nine Patch quilt is Becky's!  She's been a huge Quick Curve Ruler supporter!  This is one of many quilts she has made using the Quick Curve Ruler.

I will admit, I had a really difficult time yesterday deciding how to quilt this up.  I found out she loved feathers and so that helped...but I was really stumped otherwise.  I think because I love this quilt so much it was a bit intimidating as to what to quilt on it and I didn't want to do something I wouldn't be happy with.

After a good night sleep I woke up this morning with a plan and really like it so far!

  First row done!

  14. This just may be one of my favorites!! If you had any suggestions on choosing a quilter, I would love to hear them. I've always done my own because of the nightmare stories I've heard... But I don't have a long arm. :/

Although it's sad that we'll have to do without your inspiring posts on quilting on a regular basis, it's great to notice you've every confidence that choosing this new direction is the right thing to do. And, I'm sure you'll be successful!

  17. I will sorely miss your inpiration in longsrm quilting but wish you the best! On another note, I participated in the VA-MD Quilters' Quest this past weekend and was thrilled to see your quilts and patterns at Material Girls in LaPlata, MD. It was a pleasure to see them in person and to be able to purchase more of your patterns!
