I always like to get input from you all and before anyone gets to far along on their Medallion blocks I wanted to get your input on some options for the centers of the outside Medallions.
In the original quilt I put in diamonds in the centers of all the Medallions...it felt like to much...but tonight a thought came to me to put in diamonds in the outside medallions...and even make them scrappy by combining the different fabrics I'm using for all 4 corners of the diamond...fun? What do you think? Yes....and if so, how big would you like the diamond...The sample above is the original size.
We would love your input on this...
THANKS
~Jenny and Helen~
I think those center diamonds are a beautiful touch. The "original" size seems right to me.
ReplyDeleteYes! That diamond is perfect as-is. It really adds to the design.
ReplyDeleteI like it....
ReplyDeletePersonally, I like the diamond and I think that the single color is perfect.
ReplyDeleteLove them!

ReplyDeleteI agree with the above comments. I love the diamonds. Size looks nice too.
ReplyDeleteIt looks perfect to me ... In fact I am looking at this thinking it was there all along . Need to go look at the original now ...
ReplyDeleteGreat idea. I love the original size too. I would go with either solid or scrappy diamonds.
ReplyDeletelove it just that way. are you going to post directions? Now I want to do that on mine!
ReplyDeleteThanks
I really like the diamonds in the center and they look good in the size on your picture.

I love the addition of the diamond. I felt like it needed something and that's a great touch. I probably would do scrappy as it looks so elegant the way you show in the picture.
ReplyDeleteI like!

ReplyDeleteI really like the center. The diamond adds interest and makes it a block and not just the "blank space" around the main block. I like the size.
ReplyDeleteLove it as it is
ReplyDeleteI played with a light gray one in mine. I'll have to post a picture. What size do you cut the squares to sew on the corners?

ReplyDeleteI'm thinking of offsetting mine, using half a medallion at the top and or bottom. I need to make more blocks first, but I like the diamond too.
ReplyDeleteIt's perfect!! When the picture came up my reaction was, ooh nice!!! It is beautiful!!
ReplyDeleteI have so much going on right now, but when I finish a bunch of my WIPs I'm going to try one of your curve patterns!! New to quilting, which do you recommend?
the center diamond is a nice pop, I like it
ReplyDeleteOh, shoot, I was just thinking about what kind of quilting I wanted to do in that lovely negative space between the medallions - now I'm not sure
ReplyDeleteI love the diamonds and the size! They really add to the quilt. But I don't know if a scrappy diamond would look as good as good as the solid one you have there.
ReplyDeleteI love it just the way you have it shown here. Lots of fun quilting space!
ReplyDeleteLove this, looks great! Looks very elegant! Thank you for sharing.
ReplyDeleteHave a super great sewing and stitching day!
Yes i love the diamond.
ReplyDeleteThe diamond adds a fantastic secondary pattern, and the size looks perfect to me!
ReplyDeleteI love it just the way it is. Looks great. It gives the secondary medallion character :D

ReplyDeleteStill new to blogging so I missed this thread. I do love the added diamond. I think the scrappy version adds jazz to the top, and the solid more conservative. This makes it quite versatile depending on what you're trying to achieve.
