Quilting makes the quilt!

Quilting makes the quilt!  That's exactly how I feel about this quilt.  I love this quilt so much more now it's quilted!

The grid quilting turned out better than I hoped and I love it for this quilt.  The quilt felt very scrappy to me with no color direction and the quilting helped give my eye something to focus on.

I explained how I did the Grid-Crosshatch quilting here, if you're interested.  I used double warm and white batting.

This quilted up way faster than the piecing up!!

The quilt is called Urban Tiles and the pattern will be out soon!

  5. Absolutely! The grid ties it together without anchoring it too much. If it weren't scrappy, it'd be too matchy matchy, but now it is just right!

  13. Beautiful quilt! Do you always double your batting? and if so, why? Does it make the quilt really heavy?
