Back at It!

Kids started school on Wednesday and I'm getting really anxious to get back into quilting and doing up more patterns.

I've also missed blogging and my blogging friends!  You'll be sure to see many more posts from me now, now that school has started.

Remember this quilt, I did this up last winter.

I've put off quilting it and writing the pattern up for it, because I've never been in LOVE with it.  I love the design but I've always felt the fabrics and colors I used never showed it off and gave it justice.  I may be wrong, it may just need some quilting, but I've decided to do up another anyway.

It should go fast, since I took good notes the first time.  Ugly notes but good for me.

...and these are the colors and fabrics I've chosen to use for my 2nd one.

..and if these solids don't make the design pop....well, I give up then!   I picked up this yummy turquoise polish today.  I've been painting my nails lately, I think it's my way to help me feel good about myself, since I'm sadly loosing my figure these days.

And here I was thinking how good it looked in red prints with grey, I would love to make it in those colors, maybe with a bit of orange and hot pink thrown in with the reds!

I'm doing the nail thing too, makes me feel more like a woman despite the shape not being quite so pretty at it used to be.

I think it's darling in the reds! But, being a quilter I totally get being drawn more toward the solids. :)
BTW, I'm a little jealous of all your new free time! Maybe in like 10 years I'll be there, or we'll be there together! :)

I think you are crazy. the red and grey , or is it taupe, looks fabulous, and is begging for some fancy FMQ to bring it alive. I am sure any of us would gladly give it a home

Jenny, I think the colors are great. I also LOVE your first selection and think that once you have it quilted, you will love it more. I can't wait to see how you choose to quilt it - it will add the "depth" that you are looking for.

Love the polish! Don't forget the toe nails. That would be really cute on the toes. :)

Love your first vs of this top, reminds me of the fading summer days :). Looking forward to,seeing how you quilt it. And glad to see you are being gentle on yourself :)

You'll like it when it's quilted. Quilting changes everything! After you SID, you could do a special design in the negative blocks with red thread- that would kick it up a notch! If you still don't like it, Send it to ME !

Oh Jenny - this post spoke to me. Firstly, I'm just back to blogging too and so can't wait to see your new version of No.1, which I think will look gorgeous quilted when you get round to it. Fun that you'll have a warm colors and cool colours version of the same design....eventually. I am making my mum's birthday quilt using your ruler and I'm thinking Urban Birthday at the moment using some Kaffe Fasset fabrics which she chose.

I can't believe you are losing your figure...I have gained weight over the summer as it's just been too hot to move but I am seizing the day once Z is back at pre-school on Monday! Welcome back.

So glad to see your posts again. I can only imagine how busy your days are, but you have been missed. I think all the red and grey quilt needs is your quilting, I love it already. I have had a nail polish obsession lately, and I love all the new colors.

The reds and grey version is just stunning and really shows the pattern off well. Keen to see the blue version too though.

Growing a baby is a good reason to be losing your figure. You're gorgeous! Just remember that.
