The story behind Annette's quilts started a while ago and I was so excited to finally finish her quilts and take them over to her today.
Annette had two quilts she wanted me to quilt for her. I just finished the binding on this one yesterday.
I finished this one up a few weeks ago. I wanted each quilt to have a look of it's own.
Annette loved them both! Jared went with me and Annette and her husband Don were just tickled to have us there. We were there for about an hour and listened to all of their great stories. Annette is 89 and her husband, 88 yrs old. Annette's 1st husband worked for Firestone, so Annette has lived all over the world and told us some stories about that.
Annette then took me into her bedroom to show me her Great Aunt's and Grandmother's quilt tops!
These quilts are so fantastic and was so glad I had my camera to take pictures of them. They were in excellent condition and we both decided it was best to leave them be with how fragile they probably are. Isn't that curved nine patch awesome!
...and of course I couldn't leave without a picture! Isn't she beautiful!

WOW your quilting is fantastic. What an amazing woman Annette is to make quilts like that at 89 is such inspiration.
The photo of you and her will will one to treasure. Thanks for sharing.
Great photo of two beautiful quilts made by two beautiful ladies! I think that is the best part of our job, meeting all those wonderful people and making them smile when they see their finished quilts!!
Always great to hear quilter's stores. If we don't, they'll be lost forever. Glad you had the time to spend with her.

Beautiful story, beautiful quilts and a great picture of two beautiful ladies. Thanks for sharing. Made my day!
Thank you so much for sharing Annette's quilts and story. I have been in love with these quilts since you finished the first one and the bright yellow backing is perfect. The curved nine patch reminds me of your urban nine patch, both of which are amazing. Love, love, love the last picture; two remarkable women brought together by a common love.
Oh Jenny...you out-did yourself on those quilts. Absolutely stunning. Thank you so much for sharing Annette's story too. What a dear woman she looks like.
Both of these quilts are exquisite! And I know she was thrilled to see them! Well done! And those antique beauties she has are fabulous!

What beautiful quilting you did on these. And wow, what neat quilts she had in her house. You are both beautiful! I would love for you to do some quilting for me some day, if you are still taking on quilts. Especially my Urban Nine Patch!

Awesome job you did for Annette, and I loved seeing her old quilts. I have a box of old quilt tops that were bequeathed to me from a friend. Not such, yet, what to do with them.
