"Echo" piecing re-do!

If you've been following my "Echo" design challenge...then your getting a glimpse of how absolutely obsessively crazy I can get sometimes in trying to get something just right!

I started with this~

then to this~

then to this~

The whole time I was picking out to re-do the blocks I kept singing in my head "Insane in the Membrane"....a song in the early 90's.  I feel like that sometimes!

  1. I like the contrasting colors! It makes them kind of look like modern pinwheels. I have to admit with the same colors it looked like a lot of sideways mushrooms to me.

  2. Insane in the membrane is a real song? Hubby and I say that all the time, LOL! The blocks look MUCH better, I wasn't feeling it before, but they look great now! I'm glad you were insane enough to do some stitch picking :) hehe :)

  3. Perfect - what a difference something so simple could do
This is going to be awesome when it's finished
Your are not 'insane' just a clever quilter not prepared to waste superb fabric

  5. Love this new look. I think your re-do's were worth while. Not insane, you just have a vision of what it should be, what you want it to be, and are willing to keep at it to achieve it. Good job.

  9. Definitely like the two colors per block...I felt with the mono color block, you really had to search for the design and you lost both the fabric and the design ....now its awesome!

  10. Definitely like the two colour contrast - it really lifts the design onto another level. Well worth the effort, and only a little insane ... Jill

  16. I love the mixed up blades and beads, Jenny, but I was thinking it looked like something out of the 70s. No Cypress Hill in my head...or at least there wasn't, durn it!

  17. I do plenty of un-picking when I am designing as well. I envy those who can design before they start sewing. I have to design as I go. Happy St. Patrick's Day.
